With Microsoft releasing a new IM solution to the Xbox 360, I thought it might be fun to talk about it some in a non-formal manner. I don’t think its going to have a huge impact in the way we communicate with our peers, but I think it’s a step in the right direction. At night I might not always want to “talk” to people with my head set so Live IM on Xbox will be nice for me, but I will still use my PC 99% of the time when I want to talk to people.

More importantly though this is a step into the always connected world we are slowly but surely moving to. Which my be annoying sometimes, but over all I think it’s a good thing. One thing this might help the gaming industries image, before all this online game play and being able to talk to people non-gamers would say that gaming makes people reclusive. Can’t really sat that when most games support some type of online play and some form of chat be it text or voice.
